No buyers yet in the poll. This resort could be mirroring its movie division....making a resort that most don't want. Makes you wonder who they are going for then. Are they trying for a different crowd? Or are they just 100% missing the mark?

We are also a hard pass on these. My father swears when I was little we went camping at Ft. Wilderness Campground and that is good enough for me to check it off my list of having stayed at every WDW resort. DD and I are also allergic to most of outdoors as my dad says so DD and I find CCR to be our best option for visiting nature and when we really want to rough it was stay at BRV where we have to walk outside to get between buildings.
I am thinking/guessing their plans are to reach out to those currently using the RV spaces or considering RV living after retirement. DVC points are a lot cheaper than a brand new RV and you do not have to store it anywhere, drive it or put gas in it. You just book your cabin and fly down for a few weeks.

My wife and I have no interest in camping. As I have discussed before, a Winnebago or Motel 8 is roughing it in my opinion. Saying that, if the cabins are decent, DW and I might be interested in staying there "just" to stay at Fort Wilderness at some point. Realistically, we tend to stay at the DVC resorts connected to a park since I use an ECV and being able to roll to a park (or two) is nice. We first bought AKV but don't stay there too often since even AK requires a bus. To be clear, buying - absolutely not. Renting there sometime - unlikely but possible. Yep, I feel uncomfortable when the door to my room leads directly outside, like motels. They make me feel so exposed and vulnerable. Similar (but not quite the same) feeling when I stay on the first floor of a hotel.
I didn't vote yet. I like the idea of a pet friendly DVC. I would like to stay there, but DH is a Hell NO. A "pet-friendly" accommodation would immediately make the place less desirable for me. I've been given rooms that have obviously had smelly dogs in them prior to my stay and I had to be moved. Don't get me wrong, I like dogs and cats generally, and like to play with them and stuff, but in my opinion, they just don't belong in hotel rooms. The hair/dander, the poop/pee, the noise/barking, etc. Hard pass.
No interest in buying or staying there. I really feel this is the wrong direction for DVC. Is DVC going the way of the moderates to values? These trailers are as far from “ deluxe” as you can get. Hated camping as a kid, not gonna start now. Who knows, maybe Uncle Eddy will be their new mascot. Sorry, I digress. You know that brings up a good question -- all other DVC locations are considered "Deluxe" resorts so if you're staying there, you can take advantage of Extended Evening Hours. I wonder if they will have to somehow segregate these FW cabins from the rest of the resort as qualifying for them?
No buyers yet in the poll. This resort could be mirroring its movie division....making a resort that most don't want. Agreed! I haven't heard anyone express excitement about these. Maybe they should just revive (and revise) the Reflections project. The economy will probably turn around by the time it opens anyway.

I am intrigued by them but price pp, the point chart and final design will factor in.

I agree with Tom. This is a hard no to both buying or staying there. Also annoyed they turned Trail's End into a counter service.

So I looked at the Disney collection for a points comparison. I used Sept, Sun-Thur AK standard was 40 for collection 10 as DVC points so 25% of collection. BC 49/14 for 29%, BW 47/14 for 30%, WL 43/13 for 30%. The cabins are 38 points in the collection. Throwing out AK and using the 30% it would be 13 points if they were DVC. Do I think they will be 13 pts, highly doubt it. I'm guessing around OKW/AK 1 bedroom price of 20. Definitly not buying.

Maybe this is going to be a value DVC resort? Definitely would not buy there, but, would like to try it - maybe if I bring the dog and not DH.

I’ve always said one of Disney’s good features is having so many different options. This will be just another type of option. I have a family member who would refuse to stay at BLT and VGF because of the “snooty” feel. Not all people are comfortable with luxury (Disneys version of luxury). So I believe Disney is trying to reel that group in, one who wants to be a DVC owner but in a more relaxed fashion.

I wonder how the trailers will handle the 'use'. So many of the DVC refrigerators look like someone took a bat to the front of them. I can remember staying at the Beach Club and reaching thru the cabinet without bothering to open them because the fronts were missing. BLT was, for years, incredibly warn looking - from the textiles to the chipped and stain furniture. We stayed in a BW where the sink plumbing was wrapped in white spongy stuff. For years AK seemed the least 'beat' but it could be that it was so dark I couldn't see.

Are they trying for a different crowd? Or are they just 100% missing the mark? I think that one paper, it seemed like a good idea. There are existing units that rarely sees capacity. Units that need to be replaced. Light bulb goes off that they could make it DVC, so all the costs are deferred to DVC owners to the benefit of Disney. As a bonus, the DVC resort will now pay for resort upgrades, part of the transportation and a lot of the Resort staff. As a bonus, since they are non-connecting units, they can add pet friendly cabins. Further bonus, this is a cheap and easy DVC build that will make them lots of money and give DVC future inventory to sell.
I feel this was a pure Disney management decision based on accountant input, not DVC owner wants. Honestly, I have not found any favorable group wanting this resort. Sure there are a few people interested, but no pent up demand like fir Disney to build a new Epcot DVC resort.

I voted no, but because I have no intention of buying at any new DVC resort. Before we bought DVC back in the early 2000’s we would often stay at Fort Wilderness in the cabins. They were perfect for young families and the campground was so much fun for kids. So while I would never buy there I’m not opposed to a stay there, more for nostalgia than anything else.

Crappy thing is if they don't sell, Disney is still stuck financially. They missed that step I think. But yes on paper it sounded good I am sure. The campgrounds also have their own fan club but they're different visitors to Disney than hotel/resort stays. I don't think it is smart to toss these in with the rest of DVC though. A definite misstep on their part.

Also annoyed they turned Trail's End into a counter service. Yes, for sure. Saw some pictures yesterday on a site. Made me sad.

Would not consider a purchase unless some crazy upgrades are made to the overall property.
Might consider a stay if the puppy is in tow.
