We have used Mears a few times and wondered each time how long they would stay in business. Busses were always empty - definitely not full nearly full like in the past w/ME. I guess the other percent were taking Sunshine Flyer.
Hopefully it's a good move for the customers.

Remember that bit of time - maybe it lasted a year - when the lines for the transport busses was practically the length of B level? I think it was still ME then but I think that was the time that most people decided to move to limos, uber, lyft, and car rentals. Not sure the car rentals are much better between pricing and availability than Mears. However once you take a limo, especially one that will stop at the grocery on the way to check-in, it would be hard to go back to the buses. IMO.
We ran into a couple that use Lyft. They don't even like the interior buses.

We took Sunshine a couple of times especially when they were running their special of $10pp. Our busses only had about 10 people on them so I knew it wasn't going to last but they were always on time for pickups. Competition is always a good thing for the customer so here is to hoping pricing doesn't get too crazy but there are other options for people: Uber, Lyft or rentals

I'm from the East coast, and flying into SNA would mean changing planes somewhere. We can go non-stop to LAX.

I'm from the East coast, and flying into SNA would mean changing planes somewhere. We can go non-stop to LAX. Definitely a more convenient airport to get to by air. Just not convenient to DW.
Also, the ground transport part of it makes a zoo like tranquil at lion feeding time. We were once on a rental car shuttle. We got out 4 terminal before ours and walked inside the building to get to our terminal, and made it faster than the bus. I enjoy that airport for connections as they have some very nice lounges. Despise it as an O/D airport.

I was looking at LAX vs. SNA for our potential Aulani trip, planning a DW stop on the return home, and I don't see any nonstop (current schedule) HNL to SNA flights on any airline. So we might have to endure LAX. Woo hoo. |

Now that Mears Connect and Sunshine Flyer have merged, has anyone used them?
DH and I are meeting for a weekend in early November at AKV. I found a great rental car deal but I get in early and DH comes in really late and my night vision stinks. Hoping to let him pick up the car and I take the bus in. I think I'll be fine driving back to pick him up but not sure at this point. Has the service gotten any better? Thanks for any feedback you might have!
