We are staying at the BCV and both times when returning to our room yesterday and today, there were three kids playing soccer in the hallway on the fifth floor. If you want your kids to play soccer, send them outside, not in the hallway of the hotel. The kids were kicking/throwing the ball pretty hard, I don’t care how much control, parents think their kids have, accidents happen. If my mother were alive and with us this year, she would not have the reaction time to avoid a stray ball.

Worth a front desk complaint, perhaps. Just for the annoyance alone. But definitely safety, too.

Definitely not cool. DD and I usually bring a ball, but passing is for outside, definitely not the halls. The turf/lawn at the BW is perfect for that.

We would have asked the kids to stop playing. Between the noise level and the potential for damage is too great.

That’s ridiculous, love how parents no longer parent. Would have told them playing soccer in the hallway is not allowed or just went down to the front desk to let them know. I’m sure the parents would be one of those guests who are put out and the famous line…. “Do you know how much I paid for this vacation!”.

Cheers.

“My kids are having fun. Mind your own business.” That's when I break out the bagpipes.

Next they'll be playing soccer in the restaurant, while the parents talk amongst themselves.
I remember my job when I was a kid, was to sit and be quiet. No matter how boring

More than once I've been verbal 'slapped' for watching kids that are active in restaurants. I have a hard time with noise - cafeteria, QS - and we were seated in an enclosed porch area with a bunch of loud kids. I don't know how their parents could hear to talk but as they were leaving the one mother said to me, "We're leaving now so you can enjoy your meal." Well, witch, you're right but I was staring at you because you made no effort to tone them down.
One of the last times we were at BOG I was really tired and when I am tired I stare. DH will tell me about it and he did mention it and he tried to carry on a conversation to distract me but one of the father's said to me 'we're leaving now'. I was actually startled because I was listening to DH but apparently I was staring at his toddler son crawling around the floor. Blech.

"We're leaving now so you can enjoy your meal." "It would have been better if you'd done something while you were here; but this is better than nothing."
Cheers.

My kid is guilty of this. Usually in the 10 minutes I need to gather the last of our things before we leave the hotel room. Not soccer but mini hockey (called shin-ee). 9 year old boys have endless energy.
I am on him not to bother any other guests while blowing off steam for a few minutes (middle of the day, never in the evening). And would be mortified is someone had to ask him to stop so they could pass. There would definitely be consequences if someone needed to ask him to stop so they could pass safely.

Playing soccer (or anything of the sort) indoors in public is ridiculous. I've never seen/heard anything like it, but also not surprised. I have a great "teacher look" that I use anytime I see kids misbehaving and it seems to work. DH thinks it's hilarious.

Interesting - I would be the one to say something where my husband would not.

In college, we played in the lounge of our dorm, using flipped over couches as goals.
