BREAKING: Disney’s Fort Wilderness Cabins are Becoming DVC Properties The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort are becoming the next Disney Vacation Club property at Walt Disney World Resort. The current cabins at the resort will be torn down and rebuilt as refreshed hideaways. This project between Walt Disney World Resort and Disney Vacation Club is part of the overall refreshment of Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground and is projected to open in 2024. So, I guess this is what they're doing instead of Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge.
It will be interesting to see the number of points for a cabin. The previous cabins were considered "moderate" accommodations. With a capacity of six, I would imagine they would be in the range of an average one-bedroom, maybe a bit higher.

I am hoping this is an old April Fools joke. If true, it is a horrible idea.....just horrible. I will wait for Tim to post on DVCnews or an announcement from Disney.

Seriously....Adding 350 DVC cabins is one of the stupidest things I have ever heard proposed by DVC.
These are oversized, standalone studios, that sleep six.....in the woods.
Disney is going modular.....taking cheap to whole different level.
I know details are lacking for the resort, but there is nothing I can think of that makes this a positive for DVC.

Correct, that's the points for reserving them through the Disney Collection. So that should make them about half that number. |

They even closed Trail's End to make it a larger counter service. What if anything about this screams DVC? |

Wow, and they just now closed the only sit down restaurant there. No walkway to WL. Maybe these things will now change.
