One of my bestest Disney friends! And I said that I don't object to messing about with that skyliner thing at EPCOT. The Starwars Studios too. It's fine. Just keep it away from WL and AK/AKL. Not asking much... Awwww. I was only teasing because Epcot is still our favorite. I agree that a skyliner at MK would be wrong. AKL could be fun to look at animals but visually it's all wrong. I finally got myself over enough of the skyliner. Even rode with strangers and did fine. Took a few rides and I got some sliders out of it too woot! My wife has come to love the skyliner so having one at OKW going to Epcot and Springs would be pretty fantastic. Although for us OKW folks, one might note that if it were walkable, the end of Miller's Road is 0.6 miles to the Joffrey's coffee shop behind Test Track (according to Google Maps). They could have done something if they wanted but lots of busy roads made them not I think. I've done the sky thingy twice. Once with Tim when we were trying to get from IG to Disney Springs to meet Kim (rode to Riviera and hopped a bus to DS) and once with Em, because she wanted to ride it. I'm okay if I don't do it again.

I agree....No Skyliner in the MK area.
However, I would love to see a Skyliner connecting connecting Epcot (front) - OKW, SSR, Port Orleans - Disney Springs (by House of Blues).
Fine with me. Epcot is my least favorite park so I don't really care what they do over there. I do like Port Orleans, so would prefer to minimize the skyliner impact there. But I'd rather have one there than close to my Lodge. And no nasty skyliners near AK. No Skyliner at AK but I do like it just not there. Not in the summer though. Never thought I’d even ride it.

I like the Poly tower; I know it looks like a more modern Waikiki or Ka'anipali resort, but anyone wanting a more 1950s Tiki look can go to the original. Best of both worlds. I think it is a perfect use of existing and limited space and allows for plenty of rooms (hopefully the full cadre of studios, 1,2 and 3 bedrooms) along that area of the 7 Seas. I'm excited to see what they plan for amenities; especially any roof top or top floor restaurant and bar. I hope that they can repeat the success of Riviera's Topolino's. The architecture looks to be in the similar style as the Disneyland DVC and the Swan Reserve. As much as some love the old traditional and thematic looks, the younger travelers - and potential owners - like modern, clean, and upscale look resorts. DVD/DVC is focusing all new projects on those consumers, as they should - - all of us here are counting how old we will be by 2042, 2057, etc...while those consumers are looking at having a 50 year span without the constraint of aging out. I actually like the new tower too. Not because it fits into the existing resort (it does not). But I like that it will be a resort within a resort, with 1 & 2 bedroom units, its own quick service and pool. It will even have its own lobby and check-in. I am sure the decor will be Polynesian/South Pacific to a degree, with a modern flair.
If the resort has a roof top lounge, it will only enhance the resort and possibly take it to another level. But I am not expecting a Topolino type restaurant.
Still in favor of a rooftop lounge/restaurant. But of course doubtful as well. Keep your invasive skyliner away from my Lodge! We like the illusion of privacy and solitude. I agree....No Skyliner in the MK area.

Sounds good to me... though the mass confusion of the general populace would be something. So many don't understand the monorail / Skyliner routes as they are now...

You don't have a kid who wants to stay at every single DVC resort in WDW though. I spent a lot of time there with a friend. I'm not rushed to stay there again. Many other resorts I like way better.

And then I found my happy spots and decided that I’d “slept around“ enough. I’m fine with just a few favorites for a little variety.

I can tolerate the skylines while it is moving. When it stops and is windy and starts swinging, well I get kinda green….

I still want to count our time visiting with a friend. I mean we were in rooms for hours and everything

One day....You will have grands. They will change everything about how you "do" Disney again.

It is funny reading this page and the opinions on the Skyliner. I must admit, I was a skeptic in how it would be in a Florida Summer or a Florida Storm. But it appears they have plans for it. And now, I can tell you I would MUCH prefer to be on a Skyliner than the Monorail. I can see a Skyliner Loop replacing the Monorail which is VERY expensive to maintain.
