Very vanilla. Still probably my very favorite resort for the location. The pull down Murphy bed in the living room is great although I wish it was bigger like the one at SSR with the ottoman. I just hope the actual sofa is more comfortable to sit on than the old one it replaced. They are both queen size beds. The Murphy sofas are always pretty stiff but not bad. At least cushions aren't all over the place like the old ones. BCV was very vanilla before this update but looked nicer in person. Hope it's the same here but BCV as a whole has lost rank in places to stay with us. |

Agree with what ever happened to theming. There is nothing ‘beachclub’ looking about the resort rooms. Location is great, but please just remind me if I don’t die in my home I will be sitting in some senior long term living place like this…. If I can afford private because the non private don’t look like that.
To sedate, then the picture of Lamina’s okw studio. Please. Theming please. The only non theme upgrade I feel they did was at SSR. I really didn’t want pictures of jockeys.

Unfortunately, what that video did was show me how totally homogenized the Disney resorts have become. Except for the resort picture behind the murphy bed, that video could have been from any of 3 different DVC resorts I've stayed in in the last couple of years. What happened to the individual resort theming? I guess I never saw it so clearly until now. I think they did a reasonable job at the Poly and SSR with the theming. But I agree BCV definitely looks to have lost it’s charm. |

OKW was hard goods refurbished in 2019 so not that long. It lost a lot of the color inside the rooms.

We are going to WDW on Tuesday, and I couldn't remember which resort. But it seems that this is BWV. So we won't see BCV until November.
I've never viewed the Disney resorts as anything more than rooms to stay in. For BWV we get the BW view. But the inside of the rooms have always seemed generic to me, and I'm fine with that. When I get back to the room, I really don't care if it's themed. I just want it to have proper, and functional, amenities.
So, to me, this just looks like updating what was already there to work better. And that's a plus.

The size of the beds are the same yes but the sofa at SSR is slightly extended, the same width as the narrow part of the ottoman so it creates a chaise lounge effect. Basically roomier seating, always a plus. I am a couch sitter and do prefer the stiffer sofa, easier on my back. |

I get the loss of colour but that, to me, is different to theming. All the touches from the deckchair lamp stand, the reef maps etc added to the theme. Not in your face but still there. On the other hand is BRV which has a lot of colour after the recent refurb. |

I wish they would change out the dated, brown granite counters in the BCV kitchens. I know that’s a big expense but for me, it completely detracts from the overall look.

Reading on the DIS that the refurb st BCV is complete.
There is work on the hot tub happening until “late December”.
