And here is is on the actual member cruise info website: “Effective March 21, 2011, Members who do not purchase their Ownership Interests directly from Disney will not be able to use those Vacation Points to make reservations for the Member Cruise. If a Member wishes to pay entirely in cash, they must still own at least one Contract with Ownership Interests purchased directly from Disney Vacation Development, Inc. Effective June 3, 2021, to obtain a Disney Vacation Club Digital Membership Card, Members must accumulate a total of at least 150 Vacation Points purchased directly from Disney Vacation Development, Inc.” I wonder if I will be eligible. At the time of purchase, the total needed was 75 pts direct. I purchased 118 pts. That is my sole contract. Shouldn’t I be grandfathered in instead of now owning a total of 150 pts? Yes, you should be grandfathered.

Now is there a way when I log into my Disney account it will say I am blue card or cruise eligible! I already have the “Y” in my Apple Wallet to show when at Disney. But I can’t seem to find anything on the member website.

The "Effective March 21, 2011" is the key. That means if you purchased ON OR AFTER that date, you must purchase at least 150 to be eligible. If you purchased prior to that date and purchased at least the minimum required for Membership Extras and STILL own those points, you are eligible.

CCV wasn’t even selling I think until around 2017. But, I still have the “Y”.

Just got off the phone with MS. She had to reach out to get more info on my situation, was on hold about 8 min. Her words” I have no restrictions as I have had the 100 pt minimum prior to 2022”. Very interesting as this leads me to believe they are dropping the 150 needed to be eligible for member perks down to the current change of 100 pts direct purchase minimum change that happened last week.
In any case, I am good to book the member cruise! BUT I’m not gonna do it! Just wanted verification! LOL.

Thanks Jax! Ok this pricing is ugly. I usually book a 7A or 5C category. For 5 nights, in 7A, $2715 is ludicrous. And it’s only sailing to Disney’s islands. ( Lighthouse point charter).
For comparison, for almost the same exact price, I am booked on a 9 night sailing with Holland America, on their newest ship the Rodderdam, plus the Have It All promotion, ( includes all alcohol, drinks, etc , Wi-Fi, $200 towards excursions, $200 OBC) for a balcony room. Sailing to the southern Caribbean to Curaçao, Bonaire, Aruba.
So no thank you Disney.

I doubt they plan to drop it.

There are still plenty of cabins on both sailings. Surprised as they usually sell out within days. I’ll look for the post that specifically names the cabin categories still available to book.
