We have been home from our trip for a few days and noticed that there was a survey from Disney. I have done dozens of these surveys so figured it was same old same old. Nope, this survey wants hard money information, how much we spent specifically for every aspect of our stay. So I estimated the total cost but on the next page they want a breakdown of everything.
There is no way I can know how much we spent on our room since it’s DVC. Tickets? We have APs, do I count the total cost for 2 Sorcerers Passes? We have never really kept track of food costs, too much work on vacation. I threw up my hands and got out of the survey. Frustrated and annoyed.
Has anyone gotten one of these surveys and how did you handle it?

Maybe more room/dining future promos?

It's a survey. If it's too much work I sure as hell am not bothering.

I totally understand your frustration with the survey, but I do find it interesting because in the Q&A that Iger did yesterday or the day before he said it is a concern that they are pricing out theme park guests.

Honestly I would have been happy to answer the questions about cost if I knew how. I know there is a formula to put a price on your DVC stays but I don’t have it at hand. Had already answered that we were AP holders but then they wanted the cost of the tickets. That’s where I stopped. We feel our trips are pre-paid, they have our money up front. The questions about how much money spent on food and merchandise and if you purchased Genie+ and LLs I feel might be relevant but it wouldn’t let me get that far.

I don't mind doing survey's but only if they are quick and easy....that sounds like way too much work.

I will do surveys. The amount of time I'll spend depends upon how much I care that they read it. Some are worth more to me than others. And I never really know if they'll read them anyway. Retiring soon, I'll have more time for surveys Cheers.

In January, I received a survey similar to the one sent to OP. If one makes the assumption that Mickey's minions are not interested in needlessly creating duplicate data sets, the implication of the survey questions would seem to be that TWDC is not mining charges incurred via one's credit card and/or MagicBand/room access card to get the same results for Disney points-of-sale. I suppose one might be grateful for that, if (improbably) it is true. I would rather be asked and afforded the opportunity to decline.

And then I realised it had to tally exactly. Like you, I quit the survey. I felt I’d wasted too much time on it as it was, couldn’t face having to make up figures just to match an exact dollar amount.

Sounds like they are looking at the DDP.

I traveled to WDW in February and stayed at BLT (using points). I got two surveys- the first survey came to my email the day after we checked in and requested my reply within 48 hours. I thought that this was strange. But, the questions seemed pretty standard and usual. I got the next survey by email as soon as I got home. Also standard Disney survey questions. No specific mention at all about money spent over the years, other than the questions about "please rate the value paid for ...."

Many years ago, we used to get these complicated surveys from Disney. There were lots of questions about how much we spent. What I remember the most is that a lot of the questions had you break down 100% and assign various percentages on what you did, and spent. And it had add up to 100. They used to take forever, and seemed silly. Now I wonder if they were trying to figure out how much we , as APs, spent on vacation.....I wish I had copies, or notes on those, but this was probably around the 2012 13, 14 range. That's when we were planning trips around SW weekends, and one year, we spent a lot more on souvenirs than ever, and I remember including that in the survey. ANyway, breaking out all of my amounts into percentages, and figuring that out was a PITA for sure. I do love surveys. Universal sends a lot for sure.

Sounds like they are looking at the DDP. Just got home and received the same survey that was one of my other answers... without the ddp I am not heading to table service restaurants and yes a kitchen is REALLY important!

Hey just got a second survey basiclly asking about my answers to the first- they might actually be paying attention, they wanted to know why out of 8 day stays I went to their parks 3 times … one of the drop downs was unavailable park reservations

We just returned too and had a survey. I did notice with this survey it asked if prior or after our stay at Riviera if we were staying on the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser. lol - NOPE - no desire. I do predict this will eventually become another hotel. They may do voyages on weekends and regular guest stays throughout the week for awhile. Die hard Star Wars fans have just about run their course I suspect - especially with that price tag.
