"It's" is a contraction of "it is." Never ceases to disappoint me how many typos media companies commit. How much are they paying their writer and editor in order to have them overlook the simplest of grammatical conventions in a headline?

How much are they paying their writer and editor in order to have them overlook the simplest of grammatical conventions in a headline? The difference between its and it's Here's the rub: its (without an apostrophe) is a possessive pronoun, like his or her, for nouns that don't have a defined gender. In contrast, it's (with an apostrophe) is the shortened form, or contraction, of it is or it has. You are correct!

Wife got me a little sign for the desk that says, "I'm silently correcting your grammar" Over the years, I've had to learn to not always say it out loud...

Now that Wiltony pointed that “grammar” issue out, I now feel the need to double check EVERY word that I use an apostrophe with…….. Thanks Wiltony!

Now that Wiltony pointed that “grammar” issue out, I now feel the need to double check EVERY word that I use an apostrophe with…….. Thanks Wiltony! Not you! Don't sweat it! We all occasionally have typos or use poor grammar whether through expediency/brevity, ignorance, laziness, etc. It doesn't matter that much on a message board and I hope you don't think I was being critical of you. I frequently mess up myself and it would be maddening if we were all constantly correcting each other's grammar.
I was just frustrated that this was a professional news article from Yahoo that is written by experienced writers and reviewed by an editor, and was published with an error not in the body of the article (which I understand can occasionally happen) but in the headline!

We are definitely looking forward to this. Will be watching for the announcement when we can book. Ideal cruise would be a few days at sea, a stop at Castaway, and a stop at LP!

I was just frustrated that this was a professional news article from Yahoo that is written by experienced writers and reviewed by an editor I wonder how much of this is actually the case...I mean, it's just Yahoo, not like it's the Wall Street Journal. And even in the WSJ and other large publications, I'm seeing online articles that are clearly just quick things...like there is a person working by his or herself, "You see articles of interest on vacation travel, you put it up there." Like a blog entry.

The Summer 2024 itineraries are posted on the DCL web site. They aren't able to be booked yet, but there is a sailing out of FLL on the Magic with stops at Castaway and LHP that we're going to book. So exciting!!
