We are booked on an Alaskan cruise out of Seattle in June on RCCL Quantum of the Seas…air fare from Florida is crazy! Oh well, this for us, is a bucket list. One very large suite, DW and our DS9 and DS6. Just booked our hotel by the terminal (Marriott waterfront - hope it’s better than the reviews say)…if anyone has recent experience on hotels there, I would love to hear it. Booked an excursion for each port, hoping the weather will be good as our boys have never experienced real cold or snow. Lol. Hoping the kids enjoy the kids club!

We booked one night pre-cruise thru Norwegian. They booked us the Seattle Westin. I have no experience with the Westin hotels so can comment if it is better or not. So many cruising to Alaska! I want to hear all about the Alaska trips! It’s on my bucket list. Also the haven vs not… I feel like the 2 rooms is more sane with the kids though. I was looking up cruise stuff daily for awhile.

So I have an Alaska cruise coming up in six weeks ( retirement cruise!). Pull out some clothes to start packing…..they are almost all Disney! T-shirts, sweat shirts, purses, etc!! Now I have to last minute shop! Ugg….. haha, I know the feeling. I'm like that w Star wars shirts (and Disney.) Happy shopping! Hope you have a fabulous trip!!! |

This is exactly us. We booked 2 connecting rooms for my immediate family. One will be for the kids, and the other is for the DH and me. We get the 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Our moms are a few cabins down from us. I looked at EVERYTHING! The 2-bedroom family cabin just was too much more for me for what you got. It would’ve made sense if all 6 of us could’ve been in there comfortably, but the 2nd bedroom is bunk beds in a tiny room. That’s where our moms would’ve gone, so that was a no go. Kids would’ve been in the living room. Anyway, that’s why we booked 2 cabins instead. |

So.......
We are also on the Alaska Bandwagon. We are sailing on NCL Encore May 21-28. We booked the Aft Cabin Haven Suite. Its exactly the cabin I have said we wanted many times in MO threads. This is the 4th time planning this cruise and it seems we will finally make it. Covid took out our last planned cruise to Alaska.

Thanks Tom finally! Like you it was postponed ( thank you Covid). We put a bid in for the Haven. Wont know if we got it until about 2weeks out. I’ll let ya know. Congrats on that aft Haven! |

We already do lots of travel and have both been to Alaska a bunch, but never together. We do plan to do that. Likely fly in and drive about. Visit national parks (they have more than any other state). It is a fabulous place to explore, from the panhandle to the North Slope.

We always wanted to do a 3-4 week stay/cruise trip to Alaska. Work and life....and other adventures, just do not allow enough time to do it all. The next time we go, it will be for multiple weeks. Probably in the early years of retirement, but not the first year.....which is a whole different adventure to Europe.
