On mobile it is at the bottom and top. On desktop it floats and no scrolling is needed. It's just there always. No need to have both. Honestly it can be added with a plug in but it is clunky and meant for those who want to turn off the floating bar which, IMO is far superior Ok, I now feel like a total idiot. I swear I never saw it just above floating above all posts. I was so fixed on looking for it at the bottom. So sorry guys. This is one of those "D'oh!" moments, I was thinking the same thing about the navigation button at the bottom and never noticed it floated at the top, Well done Helen. I also am frequently confused by this. I didn't know the top bar floated, so I will try to remember that. But every other forum I've been on has the links at the bottom also. I instinctively look down there to see if there are more pages. And I've missed plenty of posts and conversation just because I get to the bottom of page 1, don't see any links at the bottom of the page, and close out the browser. For a desktop browser can you leave the float and add the bottom bar as well? I don't see any harm in making the site more navigable. I also think that when we click "Reply" on someone's post, it should quote the post we're replying to. I know that there is a separate "Quote" button, but I'm just throwing out my 2 cents here. Since we don't have the threads drill down similar to Reddit, you wouldn't know who is replying to what otherwise. Honestly I have no plans to change these. I am sorry but I don't. These are actually both improvements to reduce scrolling to the bottom. I have run and created many forums over the last 2 decades and many behave this way. Not all do, but I honestly prefer to be better tech than older forums. So please respect this and understand how much time goes into this site by me. The posts like this** really start to wear on me as I feel there is a lack of appreciation for how time thought and time goes into the making of this site. I think we all very much appreciate what you and the admins so to keep this sight running and on track. Projects like this tend to become all consuming to those making it happen so if we ever run into each other at a meet up I owe you a drink or three.

Really trying to do the best for most here. Unfortunately not all requests can be dealt with. Or if most say yeah this is better, I stick with majority. I just need a vacation I think. Oh wait, got that in 2 weeks!

Well we were talking about the "Home" button on the keyboard, albeit some time ago. I just got myself a left-handed trackball - trackball on the left, trackball on the right! hee hee Anyways, the new one on the left has a scroll wheel! Everyone say, "ooooohhhhh" but not just that, you can "tilt" the scroll wheel left or right, and it clicks. So two more buttons. And you can assign them. So I made the "left tilt scroll wheel" assigned to "Home" and "right tilt scroll wheel" assigned to "End". Don't I feel fancy.
Actually, you can also push straight down on the scroll wheel, and it will click, giving another option, but I have no idea why I would need so many things. That's your middle finger; the right click is your ring finger (mirror image of normal mouse) and then there is a button under your pinky finger! I left that blank cuz damn
And if you were wondering, there are dedicated "forward" and "back" buttons, loves me some "back button"

Okay I already changed the "scroll wheel tilt left/right" to "zoom in/out" I dunno! Sometimes I feel like I want to make it "back/forward" but there are already buttons to do that. Usually plus and minus on the keyboard do the zoom, unless you are in a text field obviously. I don't know, too many options Having it do "home" and "end" was nice, I was using it, but I feel kinda stupid because the "home" and "end" buttons are sitting right there on the keyboard.

Yes but they are a reach lol. Sounds like a nice set up!

Trying to learn to use the left-handed trackball (I'm right-handed) Still working on it...sometimes my middle finger tries to flip the scroll wheel because that's how the ball on the right hand works. The new lefty one is a thumb ball. And I have problems with my left hand relaxing and my ring finger will get heavy enough to cause a right-click. Part of me says "If I had a 3D printer, I could try making a base for it that tilts it more to a vertical orientation" heh but I do not have a 3D printer. Could try making one from wood, though But the real problem I'm having is on our page, here: When you want to click on that little "New" button to the left of thread titles, you really have to be right on that thing. In fact, being inside the purple oval (well, purple for me, anyways) isn't good enough, turns out there is a smaller target inside that I guess that you have to hit. A struggle because I'm not good with the left hand yet...and when you think you hit the "new" and mistakenly don't hit the new, you get the beginning of the thread, which tends to be confusing for just a little bit!
Also, this moves kinda "sticky" when you are trying to finesse it and move just that little bit...it will jerk on you and move too far. There are endless threads on Reddit for this trackball and I guess the solution is to replace the bearings but that requires disassembly and I don't want to take the time right now.
But it's neat having a trackball on each side of the keyboard: I can reach either hand out and use either one whenever I want! What if I use them at the same time, let's see Works but it reminds me of being a kid and the disconnect between what your brain sees you doing with an Etch-a-Sketch and what actually happens when you try to use the Etch-a-Sketch.
Just in case everyone on this board wanted to hear all about my trackball problems.
