I've made a reservation for 4 instead of 2 because Topolino's had no availability for 2. This type of thing is not to my liking but my BIL says he does it fairly frequenting for the same reason. The only reason I have an actual ADR is because I want to be outside and apparently that is the only way to enjoy their outside seating. Do you all have this issue?

I once made one for 3 for the two of us for this reason. Then we went and found that the menu was so limited that we actually don't like it all that much anymore. Not much in the way of interesting appetizers, and that's what we order. Superior view, of course.
Cheers.

With so many changes to hopping, I can't keep up with the WDW rules.
Since we arrive in the early evening tomorrow, we will be there during hopping times. Do I still need to make a first reservation to hop after two with AP? Or can we just hope to Epcot when we get there making no initial reservation?
it seems that reservations are limited, so any I don't have to make allows more elsewhere.
Cheers.

With an AP you can enter any park after 4pm without a reservation. The exception is MK on a Saturday. If you want to enter before 4pm you’ll need to have a reservation for Epcot.

"after 4pm" why did I think it was 2pm. It's not 2pm? I know the hopping can occur at 2pm, maybe that is where I got 2pm.

It’s after 2 to park hop without a reservation. January and this ridiculous reservation system can’t come soon enough. It should have been gone long ago.

I'm actually fine with reservations for morning visits. we know where we're going, and making a reservation is no biggie. Moving hopping earlier (F&W starts at 11 ), or eliminating restrictions is much bigger to me. And I'm not holding my breath.
Cheers.

Maybe I understood wrong but I thought once the reservation system is gone, it goes back to ‘normal’ if you have a park hopper you can hop when you want.

The reservation system isn’t gone though unfortunately. I suppose the 2 pm rule might be gone, but I’m not sure. I just re read the rules and it actually doesn’t specify after January 8th. Per blogMickey site, the 2 pm hopping restriction will still be in place into 2024.

So AP holders who want to enter parks before 2pm will still need to make park reservations, as will those with non date-based tickets. So far the 2pm hopping rule is remaining.

I often make reservations for 4 or 2 when I’m the only person dining, it’s what works with the system so no, doesn’t bother me at all. Of course I’d almost never choose to dine outside of my desired air conditioning if I didn’t have to.
