Hello everyone, Does anyone know how to sell and/or buy without using a broker. I was told it is possible. If so, I need to sell some of my SSR points. I currently have Vero beach, and 2 SSR if anyone is interested. I am a DVC fanatic and love my Disney but college tuition is a major hurt right now. I'm not sure you're allowed to transact sales on the board (I couldn't find a rules forum) but if you are you'd want to list the UY, # of points and asking price for those SSR contracts. |

Sure it'd be like selling a home without a realtor. Their value add is finding a buyer for the seller, managing the process, and answering your questions. They charge a commission to do these. It might save you $600 or $800. Is that worth it since the tradeoff is you just hand it off and be done with it? Sign where they tell you type of thing. If you are unsure if it can even be done I'd guess your expertise is probably limited on this so I would work w an agent. There's little downside other than a few bucks. |

Sure it'd be like selling a home without a realtor. Maybe not quite on that level as there is substantially more involved in selling a home than a timeshare. Much easier to do the timeshare, even though I agree that it's worth the few bucks for a broker. And definitely for a realtor as this is a different ball o' wax.

I know this is old, but someone had posted a link to an $80/pp SSR contract 250 pts. I can’t find it now but I clicked through from here to the listing and it is still listed. Total bait and switch. I reached out and made an offer but was definitely willing to pay full price. Broker came back and said I needed to offer $99pp or Disney would ROFR it. If the seller wants $80pp, doesn’t matter if Disney takes it or if it passes. Shady. Told the broker I’ll pass (just on principle). Hey, I know you. Welcome aboard. Ugh on the shadiness. What is the smallest number of points on a contract that you can buy direct at this point? I haven't looked at resale prices lately, but might look around. Nothing will top recession prices. We picked up an extended OKW contract for $70 per point. If you are already a member, it’s 25 points. I thought the minimum went up. |

If you are already a member, it’s 25 points. I thought the minimum went up. I didn't realize the minimum changed based on the resort. Most of the resorts are 25 points except Copper Creek, Riviera, Grand Floridian and Villa's at Disneyland Hotel. Those are 50. |

HH $65 - 50 Sept
OKW $75 - 150 Aug

Does Disney/ DVC self - insure ? Many insurance companies are leaving Florida … Farmers Insurance just made that announcement . California probably has stricter legal protections.
It is time to ask ourselves about the climate change outlook and insurance costs , etc…
just how can they keep balancing the points and maintenance for these locations ?
But have to ask … Is there anybody looking for coastal property ?
That weather heat wave dome over Texas is very alarming…
Try watching EXTRAPOLATIONS streaming on APPLE with Meryl Streep . It is not easy to follow the story but I guarantee it all makes sense in the end.
Remeber when I warned many about the legal protection your family will be need to protect your avatar after death ?
This presents a very real scenario about many issues we should be concerned about .
Anyway , read your contract , ask questions that have no answers from DVC , Nobody can predict the future but you can educate yourself and try to consider the few wise choices available in this timeframe today .
