Okay, I think I've found a way to share the art that doesn't create other problems. Here's the concept map. This is the base for the rest of the marketing art for Standing Pines.

This is the current in-progress version of the pond concept art. It's close to done, but needs a few tweaks.

The same artist is working on a few other pieces for me. I've used these to put together style guidelines for what I see as the distinctive look for Standing Pines art.

Along the way, I took a couple of risks to try other artists and other looks. I shared these with my friends who agreed to sit as Board of Directors. One is a real estate agent who is extremely good at marketing. She gave the best feedback. We need to have a distinctive look that is consistent to establish a brand. It needs to be something someone looks at and immediately goes, oh yeah, that's that place. After time, consideration and additional research, I think she is right. So now I've gone back to the artist who did the original map to create all the initial concept art for Standing Pines. This includes redoing some of the pieces I commissioned with other artis in her style so the look is consistent. The concept art will be used for the groundbreaking, for media kits, on social media and potentially in presentations for investors as well as other stakeholders. Here are some of the other pieces I had done. I like each individually, but collectively they don't have the cohesion needed for branding. These next are from an artist who used generative AI to create them. That creates potential issues for me for copyright, which I will avoid like a house on fire. The two other issues are that the photorealistic style implicitly seems to promise this is what the resort will look like. That's not something I can do right now as we haven't built it yet. Plus when you really start looking, the quality on some of these is not great. Happily, this was the least expensive and now at least I know this is not the route to go. AI version of pool concept art - this artist had exactly the same information, drawings and direction as the artist who produced the lovely watercolor concept art above. The difference in quality is striking. Same deal with the pond - both artists had the same initial set of photos, drawings and direction. However, one came back to me with an initial sketch that wasn't quite right and asked for more information so she could capture the vision. That's the work in progress above. The AI artist did not. Even after a couple of rounds of me giving feedback, this was the product. AI artist bike track - - this one is not bad, until you notice the weird stuff off in on the right hand side. I actually like this image a lot. I won't use it for any public marketing because it is not consistent with our look. But I might use it as a motivational poster for myself and DH privately. Same with this image. I love it. It is beautiful. It is not good for our marketing needs, but makes me glad I spent the money on the AI art.

Now, at the risk of significantly oversharing, I also want to give a sneak peek into a whole different part of the project.
Meet the Forrest Friends. This lovable characters live in the woods of Standing Pines. I have a pretty good idea where I'll take this overall story, but so far only have the initial drafts of the first two chapters of the first novel. Each chapter will be its own illustrated storybook and potentially short animated video. Each of the characters, including several not introduced in the first two chapters, have their own personality and draft illustration. The overarching story is about building in an environmentally friendly way, ensuring these characters have space preserved for their homes and lives with the development of the campground that was not possible when the land was used as an actively logged tree farm. I see lots of possibilities with these stories. Plus, creating it is a ton of fun for me as well as a way to involve my daughter in creative writing and editing. Win win!
Here's an early draft of part of the first chapter. Feedback welcome and appreciated!! **all rights reserved (of course!)

I just want to say I would read some of your adventures on the closed forum and then when you started this adventure. Sometimes I’m a lurker, so I don’t always comment. But your campground, wow. The depiction of the pool area and glamping area….. wow. Take this a a compliment. I am one who has never been camping, have no desire too lol. I am one that will say, no never have, and I will not be laying on my deathbed saying I wish I went camping. Surfing that’s always been my wish. After seeing your sketches the pool… I’m like well if I ever did this once in my life yes that looks like a place I would do it. Absolutely, beautiful. Are you tired yet and just miss the days of going to Disney and writing you mini travel books?.. good luck, but it’s not luck, you have what it takes, even through the surprises.

Love this update!
How cool that you might be accepted as a class project! Amazing. Also loved your comment on ChatGPT. That's common feedback I'm hearing. I've dabbled so I know about it, but I agree that it's good to get you going.

Thanks for taking time to offer comments and feedback! This means a lot to DH and to me. All suggestions are valued and some have made us stop and rethink things in a very positive way.
kzrooster - thanks! I'm liking this story too. I probably should not, but I already have a favorite among the characters. That one will likely get more "on-screen" time in the novel than the others.
tomandrobin - thanks! Also, here's hoping. Every day seems to bring a new challenge. Sometimes it is exhilarating. Sometimes exhausting!
dlwdwdvc - thank you! I like to think we are doing okay with the challenge as a family. Also, yes to merch for the art! Posters, puzzles, pool towels, tee shirts - - guests will have many ways to bring memories home as souvenirs.
starrysolo - absolute minimum is 2 cabins, because we already have those going. The hope is to open with 10 cabins of varying sizes, but budget is getting tight and I doubt we open with more than 5 at this point.
disney54us - That's so very kind, thank you! I will miss the frequent FL visits but hope to incorporate the best of all the parks and resorts into Standing Pines. Much like how my writing has transitioned over to stories for the campground, many of my other interests and hobbies are getting channeled into the business. DH is getting a similar experience, where all his prior building/fixing skills are getting tapped.
reblzmom - thanks! I really appreciate the compliment. I'm also realistic enough to know I've missed things, probably important things. The hope is the team we've built will catch really important things before they bite us.
zulaya -love the excitement, thank you! ChatGPT has helped me save time with organization and suggestions. But it is simply a tool. I can tell quickly what I've spent time rewriting or cowriting v the first draft the AI tools spit out.
