lephelps that's awesome!!! Thank you!! I really need that kind of detailed view. It is not my strength and I appreciate the time spent (procrastinated???LOL!) on this! It will take me a couple of days, but I'll use this list to go though and make updates.
Tom - do you know which link sent that error message? That's the first time anyone has let me know about that as a problem, so I'd like to chase it down. Here's the primary link to the beta site: standingpines.my.canva.site/home
Another buddy also did a look at the beta site for me. His general feedback was fairly direct:
1. Too much text, not enough visuals at the top of each page. Use hero shots.
2. Ditch underlines for links and the button style is outdated.
3. Move map and social info to footer to declutter top of page. Add other contact info to footer.
4. Thumbs up on concept art map. Consider it for the hero image for now.
5. Pay a professional to do this. It's not too bad, but if this is how you are presenting your business, you don't want it to look less than fully professional.
I think he has a point on items 1-4 when I go look at competitor websites. However, we are not at the point where I am willing to pay a few thousand for a website designer right now. I fully acknowledge it would be a more professional look and is something that will be worth it in the near future. Right now, I consider having the investor site live and the rest of the site done enough to show potential investors we have done our homework the most important reason to have this beta website available. I need the ability to go in and edit on the fly for now, not wait to feed those requests through a designer. So while I appreciated the particular feedback around hiring a pro, that's one suggestion that will need to wait a bit.
The most important work I'm doing right now is searching for investors. While I've put things back in motion on the assumption that we will get those additional investors, it is not happening as fast as I'd hoped. Still, that's overall par for the course for this project. Everything always takes longer than I think it will, so I'm trying hard to reach for patience as the word gets out around the opportunity.
