Wife was watching something and they run commercials, and they keep showing this Nissan commercial. Three Nissan SUVs are driving down a road, then they encounter a buffalo or wild bull or something in the road. Somebody turns the chromed-plastic knob in their beige vinyl interior to what I assume is a 4WD mode and suddenly the music changes to a "bullfighter" style with an exciting trumpet. The three vehicles are suddenly zooming through the woods, driving on what appears to be a well manicured gravel road / two-track. They arrive at some sort of luxury VRBO- or airBNB-style two-story "cabin".
I look at my wife and say, "My old Pathfinder is rolling in its grave right now." You could drive the road in that commercial in an old Civic or Corolla. I used to have this 1993 Nissan Pathfinder, from an era when "SUV" wasn't really a word yet but if it was, it meant "vehicle to do sports-things and/or utility work" and in my case, it meant "small agile off-road vehicle" and I would go do those things you see in offroader magazines. Mine was from Canada, so not only was the speedo in km/hr, some things were labelled in French. hee hee. But importantly, it came equipped with the coveted limited slip rear differential! Yay! And it was a stick so you could put it in four-low and first gear and crawl over rocks lemon squeezy. I miss that thing.

There's a thread going on being tired of WDW. We go in a week and I CAN'T WAIT!! But it could be that I'm getting a break from babysitting for the 18 month snot fest and the 5yo going on 45. By the way, I checked SW for our flights next spring and the two less expensive options aren't even available for the March 3 and 4. Crap on a Cracker.

There's a thread going on being tired of WDW. We go in a week and I CAN'T WAIT!! We're three days into 12 days in New Orleans, including 8 days of music festival and still looking forward to our WDW trip that happens less than a week after we get back. Among the few on that thread not getting tired of WDW.
Cheers.

Driving around town today, saw this parked in front of a Audi/VW specialty garage: I had to stop and look. One of my dream cars from when I was a kid, and it is even in the white color! Although now that I stare at the pictures, I decided that this is the Coupe and not the Quattro; the Quattro had this particular fender flare thing going on. Also, a look inside showed this to be an automatic transmission...a huge letdown. But still!

G+ = nah = can't justify a reason to indulge. If I'm up I will try for the VQ's. I did warn DH that we'd be hitting EPCOT early to experience Remy as it is the one ride we've never ridden - mostly because I forget about it. The only activity we do in Epcot is travel from beverage station to beverage station. Now, that's an additional expense I can support. This vacation and our next vacation in September are going to be as Park heavy is I can enforce because I am determined not to renew our AP's. If the AP's are still around in late '25 we'll buy again. Hopefully by late '25 DVC will finally do something for members in regards to G+.

They are usually on Monday nights. We have had good luck getting on Remy after the fireworks. Usually a very short wait. Sometimes we ride it twice. It's an option if you don't want to get up too early.

Yeah a couple years ago, we had never been on Remy but it was like 10:50 and it was nearly a walk-on. Score

We leave for Disney 30 days from tomorrow. I better get my act together but we had a concert last week for orchestra (last minute as a horn player they asked him to play), band concert Weds, Band banquet next Tuesday, choir 2 nights of "Follies" acts, and then I think a choir banquet the next week? Plus finals, and other good stuff. In addition to making time for exec band board stuff where someone talked to the principal out of turn and now we're redoing some things because conversations came up that were not great and the person there had zero room to talk. Fun times LOL

Jumping on this train.... I leave on Weds! Very excited. But, the excitement did take a bit longer to take hold than it usually does. Then again, that may be because I'm a little anxious about this trip (it's just my mom and me; she's 79 and will be in a scooter). We return mid-next-week, quickly followed by Mother's Day (thought this trip would get me off the hook, but nope 🤣), moving DD#3 home from college out-of-state, DD#1 birthday, and DD#2 college graduation. Oh yeah, and also there's my work.... I'm exhausted just thinking about it all. For now, I'm focused on Disney!!

We just found a favorite place to view EPCOT fireworks. The railed walkway around the Odyssey building sets you back from the trees with elbow room and a leaning rail to boot.
