Yes they are very lenient on Guardians. You can return any time after your group is called. And it will not disappear at the 1pm drop. Are the other VQs like that, too? Torn is stricter, definitely, but not as bad as they used to be. The consensus from Touring Plans, both their own staff plus forum users, is that they allow you to be an hour later than your return time. There are also some reports of them allowing a later return under some circumstances, but this is more CM dependent. So not something you can rely on but if you really did have some unforeseen events happen then it’s worth pleading your case.

GotG is usually an arrival day ride for us when we take an early afternoon flight. I get the VQ at 7 AM; boarding group has always been called in the mid-AM to early-PM. We usually get to GotG, between 6 and 7 PM. Only once has a CM said anything, and it was a sarcastic, "Oh, you're only 8 hours late."

Things like ride break downs, dining reservations colliding etc have always been allowable. When one in our party had medical issues they allowed him to ride late. They're not heartless but waltzing up 8 hours late without cause probably won't ever fly. GotG is usually an arrival day ride for us when we take an early afternoon flight. I was saying that the range of reasons that are accepted are far greater now. But it is very much CM dependent; some may let you ride a few hours past your return time if you ask nicely, others might want a more specific reason. The worst they can do is say no. And if more people start asking they might start reinforcing the rules more.

I thought they were kind to give an exception of all day for medical reasons.

Two specific examples of Tron.
In June last year, DS and his friend tried the VQ was their cruise ship on disembarkation day and got a single figure BG. When they arrived at MK they asked if they were too late but were allowed to ride; they reckon they were well over 3 hours late but weren’t asked why.
Much more recently, since Christmas, a friend who lives close by decided to try for a VQ at 7am, got BG 3. By the time he arrived at MK it was well after 10, he tried tapping in and was waived through without being questioned.
I think the time’s come to get rid of both VQs now. Keep the ILLs and open up stand-by.

Two specific examples of Tron. As a different example of Tron leniency:
mrs. brp is not interested in riding Tron, so I was riding alone. But we did want to see the theming together. She did this twice, of the three times I've ridden. In each case, we just told them that she was not going to ride and, even without a BG, they waived us through. Very lax on that end.
Cheers.

I think both VQs are unnecessary at this point. I also don't understand why they were so darn strict with Tron. While we had leniency others have not. We've been lucky with our VQs being early in the morning and us not being late. I haven't had issues with MDE app hosed being hosed up for Tron but have for GotG. All 3 times Disney did help out when a stupid glitch happened but it's so unnecessary.

I suspect for Tron it's because of the canopy lighting. During the day it's hard to tell that the canopy is lit up. If they allowed people to return to Tron at anytime, I suspect the the line would be quite long after dark.

Hi All ! We’re heading to the Polynesian this weekend for a 3 night stay. Does anyone know if the studios have the standard drip coffee makers, or did they switch to Keurig/pod style coffee makers? I read conflicting information.
Thanks in advance for the help! / cel

I mean we even bought an ILL to ride at night for that very reason, just kind of forgotten on me when talking this out. I'm sure with time things will change too. And of course varies with the CM in charge. Even RotR allowed for some exceptions. Things like ride break downs, dining reservations colliding etc have always been allowable. Outside of one time with Rise at BG 55 and app issues (like my next day when I couldn't even buy a ILL after that weird hold message I got) I seem decent at getting low numbers. Though not sure how that will be over spring break. 1pm slots are usually very doable.

Who did I read not that long ago was having Keurig coffee makers?
Drip at OKW. I make a pot and stick it in the fridge because nobody drinks it but me! Then I microwave as needed.

New refurbs are swapping to the duals. Polynesian was just done prior to that change. My spouse only does drip coffee. We think k-cups are not good and honestly wasteful. Spouse does drink enough in one day for himself to make a pot though.
